A design/build system, in contrast to the traditional “design-bid-build”, contracts all phases of design & construction with a single company. This format minimizes the projects risk for the homeowner by keeping everything under one roof. Design professionals are employed directly by the contractor, allowing the design and construction phases of a project to overlap more fluidly. The design/build concept also eliminates communication issues that arise between separate designer & builder entities.

We at D & J feel that good communication is the key to a successful project. From the beginning of a project, we format a plan to assure that the chosen methods of communication work for all parties involved. We send weekly emails outlining updated schedules and have structured walk-through meetings at pivotal points of the project.
At the start of your project, a design professional will be your primary point of contact. After the design phase moves to production, our project manager will take over. And of course, you are more than welcome to contact any of us at any time, we strive to make ourselves available by phone, email, and text.
We are available 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday at our office. You will also have other contact information available once your project is underway.
D & J has spent years building our reputation in the Sacramento community and we do not accept any employee conduct that could jeopardize our standing. Our reputation is our most valuable asset. We have also worked hard to find the best project partners in town, some of our subcontractors and suppliers relationships go back more than 20 years.
We supply you with several full pages of references segregated by zip code. We ask that you call any of the references and ask questions that are of importance to you. We can also supply you with a list of our subcontractors who will answer any questions. We do not expect you to simply “take our word for it”.
